Above: Hiking in the mountains beside a levada high above the town of Serra de Agua, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean. Most of this part of the levada has been fairly recently rebuilt.

1 to 4 and 10 show views hiking through the forest beside the levada that brings water into the Serra de Agua valley and towards Ribeira Brava on the coast.
At this point in time, the levada is dry, but water is let in at specific times when the valleys below need irrigation.

5 is a view to the coast below.

6, 8 and 9 show flowers along the walk.

7 shows an rundown home in the agricultural area we walked through, appears to be being fixed up.
