Above: The Temple of Hatshepsut was just part of a large complex. Here are the ruins of the Temple of Thutmose III, her stepson who was only
2 years old when his father died, but both her and Thutmose III ruled together as full pharaohs. Both of their temples were patterned after
the Temple of Mentuhotep II, built more than 600 years before around 2000 BC.




1 sbows the reconstructed front of the upper poritco of the Temple of Hatshepsut.

2 to 4 show the festival courtyard behind the upper portico.

5 to 7 show inside the Amun Shrine at the very back of the temple.

8 and 9 show locals in solid gold outfits.

10 and 11 show views of the temple from the middle terrace.

12 is a home with no roof, in the abandoned village of Qurna, but not totally abandoned.
