Above: In the tomb of Ramesses IX, ... the winged version of the goddess Nekhbet, the patron god of Upper Egypt.



1 and 2 show the painted archway and ceiling in the central corridor of the Ramesses IX tomb.

3 shows three key ancient Egyptian symbols ... the scarab, a symbol of renewal and rebirth, and below the Eye of Horus (left) and the Eye of Ra (right).
You may ask what's the difference, they look the same ... the right eye represented the sun and so is called the “Eye of Ra” while the left represented
the moon and was known as the “eye of Horus”. Both are on top of a snake.

4 to 6 show the burial chamber of Ramesses IX, at the end of the tomb.

7 to 9 show paintings and decorations in the final four pillared chamber before the burial chamber.

10 going back out the entrance/exit to the tomb.

11 shows some of the gang leaving the Valley of the Kings ... Ahmed, Steven and Kim, then Dave, then Joyce and Karl.
