On Day 7, I got on the bus fairly early in the morning in Fira to get to the village of Oia to enjoy the approximately 10 km. walk from Oia back to Fira. It's not a particulary tough walk, but the majority of the walk is up and down two mountains/hills in constant sun with virtually no shade along the way. The path is occasionally right beside the cliff going down to the sea below, and the cliffs are over 1000 feet, so falling over them is not a good option. But the views are spectacular pretty much anywhere one looks.

Above: On the bus to Oia, looking down below the cliffs the bus travels on to the plains below on the east side of Santorini.

1 shows the sun rising on the east side of Santorini over the Astir of Thira pool.

2, 3 and 4 are views looking back at Oia, walking towards the first big hill/mountain, including Saint George Church #1.

4, 6 and 8 show views along the trail out of Oia, the latter looking back towards Oia.
started prior to Greece's financial trouble, and leaving them in this state instead of finishing them greatly reduces the property tax.

5 and 6 show the caldera view towards Therasia.

9 shows the caldera view towards Imerovigli and Fira.
