Above: The Church of Our Lady of Assumption is a Catholic church in the largely Portuguese-built city of Mazagan, now El Jadida in Morocco. It was built in the early 16th century.

shows us walking through the busy El Jadida medina.

and 3 show the citadel, built in 1514. Below it is the cistern built by the Portuguese (which we did not visit).

and 5 show the fortification walls.

and 7 show around the port area of El Jadida.

and 9 show in side the turret area of the walls, with colonial-era cannons still stationed there.

is the citadel seen from the turret area.
