Above: The second pylon in the main court of the Temple of Edfu.



1 shows the Ankhs (life and immortality) and Was Sceptors (divine power and authority) on one of the columns past the second Pylon in the temple.

2 to 4 show hieroglyphs on the temple walls ... in #3, the gods Horus (right) and Thoth (left) bless the Pharaoh.
     3 ... The god of sky and kingship, Horus (right) and god of god of the moon, sacred texts, mathematics, the sciences, master of knowledge,
            Thoth (left) bless the Pharaoh.
     4 ... The duck and sun symbolize Sa-Ra, the "Son of the Sun god" called Ra, indicating the Pharaoh is the son of god.

5 and 6 show inside the main court of the temple.

7 to 9 show several of the dozens of columns in the vestibule going inside the Hypostyle Hall of the temple.

10 and 11 show more carvings on the walls, including warriors carrying a war ship in #10, and in the sanctuary in #11.
