Costa Rica April 23, 2025 Day 4, after breakfast we left Pachira Lodge and Tortugueor National Park on the waterways to get to Caño Blanco. We drove back the way we came, but instead of going all the way to San Jose, we stopped for lunch at the same place in Guapiles we had breakfast two days earlier on the way to Tortuguero. After, the three of us took a different InterBus to La Fortuna, a town built from pretty much nothing starting in 1982, a few years after the eruption of Arenal Volcano in 1968 that killed 87 people. Once at our hotel, we enjoyed the pool and the hot springs nearby, before probably my best dinner of the trip ... a delicious seafood medley of octopus, mussels, shrimp, crab and squid.
