St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Brampton, Ontario

Remembrance Day
November 9, 2017

The St. Thomas Aquinas community remembered the sacrifices made in the past and currently by men and women serving in the Canadian armed forces. With the theme "Freedom is Not Free", MC Mr. Marando led the service which featured two speakers, a retired member of the armed forces and former Aquinas student and now Corporal Adam Phelps of the Brampton Lorne Scots. The Grade 11 RAP dance class performed a sombre dance to John Lennon's "Imagine", the Drama class read letters of soldiers to their mothers vividly describing the horrors of war, the Grade 11 RAP Vocal and Wind Ensemble Band provided musical interludes, with Aaron Alexander ending with Taps on the trumpet, followed by two minutes of silence. Here are a few pictures from the Grade 9 and 11 assembly.
