St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Brampton, Ontario

Athletic Banquet
June 6, 2017

The athletes and coaches of Aquinas dressed up for a roast beef dinner with potatoes, vegetables, pasta and salad, plus ice cream bars for dessert. Oh, and there were plenty of awards ... most dependable player, coaches and most valuable player awards for members of each junior, senior and varsity team. Katie Cheeseman received the Super Letter Award, an award rarely given for outstanding participation in Aquinas athletics, playing on 16 teams during 4 years at the school, that would be four per year according to Dr. J's math skills. Athletes of the Year were runner and OFSAA swimmer Michael Ciepiela, and for the second consecutive year, Katie Cheeseman, playing flag football, volleyball, lacrosse and being a key part of the undefeated Girls Softball team, which won ROPSSAA all four of her years.

The school celebrated ROPSSAA Championships for Junior Boys Swimming, Varsity Girls Rugby, Varsity Boys Rugby and Varsity Girls Softball, plus multiple OFSAA appearances in Cross Country, Swimming and Track and Field. But the night was primarily about celebrating the fun had and the friends made competing at a high level in a wide variety of sports. Here are pictures from the banquet.
