The high-flying Cardinals ran their record to 5 wins and 2 losses, and took over first place in the Northern Division with a 4-2 win at
Greenbriar over the Mayfield Mavericks. The squad jumped to a 2-0 lead, but suffered a lull with overly complacent play when the Mavericks tied
it up 2-2. After the Cardinal coaching staff took a time-out to calmly refocus, the players came out with renewed energy
and dominated the final period and a half with strong skating, intelligent forechecking, stellar penalty killing and most importantly, two timely
goals to earn the 4-2 win. Here are a few pictures from the entertaining game.
